President's Note

For many reasons, from an abundance of great ICRL projects starting up to the arrival of a new family member, this year it was not practical to hold our typical December ICRL Meetup where we share all the great things that are happening. In lieu of this, let me use this President's Note as a channel to share what I think are some really exciting updates.

When you look below, you are going to see—in addition to a couple of interviews to watch from the past month and news about an upcoming talk in the Netherlands—some pretty cool opportunities to get involved.  We have our next Exploring Consciousness session this Saturday, and two more online opportunities during the first week of January: the first ICRL Meetup of 2026 and the inaugural session of a new program that we are presenting in partnership with the Pari Center, entitled Experiencing Consciousness.

Where the above are online opportunities, there are in-person ones as well. A particularly exciting example is happening from May 20-27 in Italy. The Pari Center invited me to chair their 2026 Science of Consciousness Series Conference, and we have created something truly amazing. Check the details below, and do not wait to register!

As you may infer from the multiple references to the Pari Center alone, working with other organizations is very important to ICRL and we are eager to continue our collaboration with the Bhaktivedanta Institute for Higher Studies with another Consciousness Dialogues Retreat in 2026.  We are exploring a new initiative in partnership with the Zulma Reyo School of Consciousness in Mallorca and Humanizy out of London to apply a Science of the Subjective to the process of Inner Alchemy, something we expect to manifest as an international project with seeds in Spain, the UK, and the US. We are proud to be strengthening our relationship with the Scientific and Medical Network through projects related to (as just two examples) the use of artificial intelligence in consciousness research and normalizing non-local consciousness experiences. In the domain of wellness, we are honored to have established a very rewarding connection with the Metta Foundation in Spain, through which we are looking to add a variety of online course offerings in addition to undertaking new REG-based research projects. We even have a new multi-organization project starting soon—tentatively being called Theater of the Deep—aimed at promoting the topic of consciousness in the performing arts. This one, which is so new that we do not even have a webpage for it yet, is a great opportunity for thespians of all varieties to come together for some monthly fun.

Finally, below you will read about two projects that are now funded, underway, and great opportunities to get involved with ICRL, particularly if you are a software developer, graphic artist, psychologist/therapist, AI developer, or consciousness researcher

With all those possibilities, we think there is something for everyone, so please get in touch to become part of the excitement!

Exploring Consciousness: The Spaces Between

Exploring Consciousness: The Spaces Between

Join us this Saturday, December 20th at 12:00 pm EST for our next Exploring Consciousness discussion on the topic of The Spaces Between. In these online sessions, we collaboratively explore topics in a safe, casual, mutually-supportive setting. The event lasts for about an hour; in the first 5-10 minutes, a short introduction is provided to set the stage, with the majority of the time dedicated to moderated group discussion.  Please join...

January 2026 ICRL Meetup with Emily Ireland

2026-01-03 Irish Meetup

For the past two decades, Emily Ireland has explored the mechanisms and physiological effects of craniosacral therapy through clinical practice and advanced study. This research culminated in “Light Touch”, a next-generation, wearable device that supports natural balance and cognitive-emotional regulation through gentle cranial stimulation. During this online meetup on Saturday, January 3rd at 1:00 pm EST, Emily will share information about this technology, the journey of its creation, and its potential....

Experiencing Consciousness - It's Time to Do

Experiencing Consciousness - Inner Knowing Through Art

ICRL's Exploring Consciousness series shifted us from listening to people talk and into the process of participating in the dialog. We are excited to be partnering with the Pari Center to take the next step—from talking to doing— in the Experiencing Consciousness series. Each online session will be unique and provide an opportunity to participate in some kind of activity designed to broaden your horizons. For example, in the inaugural session on Sunday, January 4th at 1:00 pm EST, ICRL’s president, Jeff Dunne will lead a workshop on Inner Knowing Through Art, where we will use a combination of guided meditation, art, and writing to tap into subconsciousness understanding. Our February session will practice remote viewing...

Paths to Knowing Consciousness and Reality:
From the Indigenous to the Academic

Pari Center's Science of Consciousness Series

ICRL's president, Jeff Dunne, is chairing this Pari Center event, bringing experts from both Indigenous and Western cultures together to explore the complementarities of intellectual and experiential discovery of the nature of the universe and ourselves. This seven-day event is far more than your typical sit-still-and-listen conference; presentations will be sharing the stage with direct experience workshops, multiple indigenous ceremonies, and individual opportunities to help synthesize it all at the personal level. If this sounds like an opportunity of a lifetime, then we've described it correctly. Space is limited at Pari, so do not wait to register. This event will undoubtedly be sold out before the end of January so...

Syntropy at the Feral Salon

Syntropy at the Feral Salon

On January 15th, Jeff Dunne is proud to be presenting at the second installment of the Feral Salon, a collaboration between the Feral Ecologies Lab and Salon Ruigoord in Amsterdam. This venue provides intimate dialogues with the most engaged and undomesticated philosophers (not Jeff's words, but he wishes they were!). He will be speaking about the nature of syntropy, the evidence supporting it, and how we might change our worldview to accommodate a universe in which time is not the one-way river we have been led to believe...

Two New Development Opportunities

projects-2

ICRL has two projects underway right now that are great opportunities to get involved, particularly if you are a software developer, graphic artist, psychologist/therapist, AI developer, and/or consciousness researcher. World Consciousness Engagement is focused on developing resources to enable people around the world to have PEAR-like, worldview-expanding experiences, and support them as they begin their own explorations into the connection between consciousness and reality. The other, entitled the Lotus Project, aims to promote the practice of mindfulness, awareness, and critical self-reflection within a supportive, online community.

Recent Interviews

vidathena vidbernie

In November, two podcast interviews were released that you might enjoy.  One, entitled "Knowing the Knower" was part of the Galileo Commission's "Know Thyself" podcast with Athena Potari. The other was Jeff Dunne's second appearance on Bernard Beitman's "Connecting with Coincidence" podcast in an episode entitled "Synchronicity, Self-Awareness, and the Collective Future".
