President's Note
Over the past few months, I have had the pleasure and honor to give presentations at a variety of events on the topic of narrative. Reflecting so pointedly on the nature of our lives as stories has been beneficial to me personally, for in those times when my path reveals challenges—as all our paths do—I have found myself a little more likely to remember that life is not a final exam to be passed, but a tale to be experienced, that my lows are simply preparation to better appreciate the highs and both are opportunities to become a little bit more of the person I want to be.
May the sorrows of your own story be likewise tempered, and the joys more joyously celebrated.

We are planning a wealth of opportunities for 2026, including next year's Consciousness Dialogues Retreat and invite you to be part of the process. These retreats are powerful, consciousness-raising experiences that incorporate a wide variety of experiences aimed to highlight the 'magic of the mundane' (as we will talk about this Saturday). Preregister your interest now (either for free or with a deposit to receive a discount when the details are finalized) to have a voice in determining the time and place of our next retreat.

Understanding the nature of consciousness is intrinsically connected to the processes of self-discovery and the ability to communicate such insights to others. Spoken word and mathematics are good for some insights, but often their specificity, their concreteness, gets in the way, and here we must turn to the language of art. Treat yourself to considering a few works of art that are part of the online art exhibition, Facets of the Human Experience, and see what insights they might give you about your own life.

The Division of Perceptual Studies at the University of Virginia has extended a call for participation in a survey-based study about "the perception of life events as invisibly orchestrated". Whether one calls this synchronicity, evidence for the divine, or any other interpretation, it is a wonderful opportunity to contribute to the research with less than an hour of your time.
